We were fortunate enough to host another selection of Volunteer groups to come and work with us over the UK summer season. We saw some welcome returns from familiar schools and faces and were delighted to have some new schools come and join us.
Tonbridge Grammar School came for their seventh year, this time to Ching’ombe where they completed a new classroom block for the over subscribed CBCC, along with a playground.
Hurstpierpoint College were warmly received back to a favourite location of theirs at Chilingani where they helped with the building of the last classroom block for the Standard 7 and 8 students.
St Edward’s School made a first trip and contributed a much needed toilet and playground at Maso, completing facilities for the CBCC block there with the addition of some delightful murals too. We enjoyed making new friends here and hope to welcome them back in the future.
Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School spent a few days at Kachumbe CBCC where they painted the CBCC inside and out and did some renovations. Murals were also painted on the walls and a small childrens playground was constructed.
As ever, we are grateful for the support of all our volunteer groups, their teachers and leaders, and to Inspire Worldwide and Wilderness Expertise for helping make it all happen. We believe very strongly in the benefits of cultural exchange and love working towards building global friendships and communities.
